Adopting a Go Green, Go Paperless Approach to enhance users experience to starting a business in JA
(D230)
Voting is Disabled

Since the implementation of the EBRF which reduced the number of pages required to start a business from 58 to 8 pages, and which resulted in Jamaica ranking 5/189 countries to start a business; the Companies Office of Jamaica (CoJ) has been consistently working to improving the user experience, whether it be a citizen or an investor to ensure that starting a business becomes a seamless process requiring very little effort. Secondly, the pressure to adopt green approaches to support climate change which is considered a real threat requires government agencies to actively challenge themselves to find green solutions that will reduce the use of paper and other burdens on climate. In this regard, A Go Green, Go Paperless Approach is being proposed that will support the digitization of certificates, the automatic approvals of companies and new businesses, create the EZ registration, and create a CoJ application to allow for on-the-spot registration, annual return reminders and generation of checklists by category of businesses.
